Flowsaber Carbon (Stunt Core)

Flowsaber Carbon (Stunt) comes in nine unique single LED color options, including deep red, red, red orange, amber, green, cyan, blue, royal blue and white. This model does not feature sound or Neopixel technology, making it a more budget-friendly option for those looking for a durable sparring saber.

Flowsaber Core is an easy-to-swap "core" used to hold your blade and communicate with the electronics. A core can be inserted into either end of your carbon hilt. Two Cores can also be placed on both ends of any 16"+ length carbon fiber hilt, replacing a pommel and creating a perfectly balanced saberstaff.

Flow Arts:

Flowsaber Carbon offers a range of hilt lengths to suit your needs and preferences. Our "standard" length hilt is 16 inches long and is suitable for both single saber and saber staff configurations for flow arts and hybrid sparring/flow. This hilt length is ideal for freestyle manipulation and flow but can also be used for sparring. If you prefer a longer hilt length, we offer custom lengths up to 18 inches.

 

Dedicated Sparring:

For sparring, we recommend a shorter hilt of 9 inches "sparring standard" paired with a 30+ inch blade. A 9-inch hilt length is extremely consistent with most extremely high-performance historical longsword designs. If you prefer a longer hilt length for sparring, we offer custom lengths up to 18 inches.

 

Hybrid Sparring and Flow:

Some people prefer to choose a hilt length between sparring and flow styles. For this, we recommend a hilt length of anywhere between 12 and 16 inches. This will still provide a comfortable surface length for flow arts/spinning manipulation whilst also being very comfortable for a standard longsword-style grip for sparring applications.

 

One of the unique features of Flowsaber Carbon is the modular design of our hilts. This allows you to easily swap out one size for another on the fly, giving you the flexibility to use your Flowsaber Carbon for multiple applications, such as dedicated sparring, Flow Arts, and saber staff. If you can't decide which configuration you prefer, consider getting multiple hilt lengths (one for sparring and one for flow arts).

Flow Arts/Spinning:

Our Steel Flow pommel is perfectly suited to users primarily engaged in flowing and spinning, rather than sparring. Crafted from heavier steel material, it offers exceptional balance and control for flow arts and freestyle manipulation, is low profile, and looks fantastic. It's highly compatible with our standard 27"+ thick and thin wall blades. This flow pommel is perfectly compatible with any hilt length ranging from 9-18 inches and is designed to create a balance point toward the center of the hilt for advanced contact manipulation and stunting regardless of what blade you use. 

 

The Acrylic Flow pommel is the highest performing pommel we offer for Flow Arts manipulation, providing a wider circumference and reducing rotational speed to provide a more stable roll and balance point for advanced stunts and manipulation. The only disadvantage of this pommel type is that some prefer the visual aesthetic of our lower-profile steel pommels. However, the Flowsaber team personally loves the look and feel of the translucent acrylic flow pommels and considers them the "go-to" choice for performances and advanced flow art practices.

 

Steel Hybrid Pommel:

With a total weight inbetween our steel sparring and steel flow pommels, this pommel is slightly lighter but continues to pair well with a thin wall blade for "ultralight" flow configurations. 

 

Sparring:

For those primarily engaged in sparring with our 9-inch+ hilt size, the Steel Sparring pommel is the ideal choice. It's constructed to reduce the overall weight of the saber and provide a balance point that suits HEMA-style martial arts and combative sparring techniques. Whether you're a seasoned sparring enthusiast or a novice, this pommel is an excellent option for improving your skills and technique, as it feels incredibly smooth and delivers a handling experience on par with the most finely balanced longswords. This is our lightest pommel. 

 

Pommel Adapter:

Our universal electronic pommel adapter is included with every complete Flowsaber Carbon purchase, making it easy to customize and upgrade your saber over time and try out different pommel and hilt configurations. It allows for easy and quick swapping of pommels, as well as the ability to connect a battery inside the pommel. The adapter is compatible with any Flowsaber Carbon pommel type, allowing you to easily tailor your saber to your specific needs and preferences.

Our pommel is designed to be easily swapped using the high quality threads and a new innovative quick disconnect feature our pommel adapters. This feature enables you to customize your Flowsaber Carbon to suit your specific needs and preferences, whether you're practicing Flow Arts, sparring, or both.

 

Base lit and Stunt saber configurations:

• Single Saber Flow Configuration: Our 27" standard thick wall blade is recommended
• Saberstaff Configuration: Our 25" thick wall blade is a great choice as it is suitable for both single saber and saber staff configurations.
• Sparring Configuration: A thick wall blade with a length of 27" or above is recommended for most people when paired with a 9" sparring carbon fiber hilt. For taller individuals (over 6'), a slightly longer blade of 27"+ may be preferable.

Flowsaber Carbon offers two blade thickness options: thick wall and thin wall. We recommend our thin wall for NeoPixel blades and thick wall blade options for stunt and base-lit models which provides a beautifully smooth balance point when paired with our flow, hybrid and sparring pommels.

 

 

To create a saber staff using our Flowsaber Carbon, you will need to purchase an additional core, blade, and battery. Each core can work independently and replace the pommel end of your existing saber. You can easily build a saber staff by adding an extra Flowsaber Carbon Core to your cart from our store before checking out.

 

Please note that the Flowsaber Carbon Saberstaff is specifically designed to be used with hilts that are at least 12 inches long. If you prefer a shorter hilt for sparring, you can still use our modular design to build a saber staff by purchasing an interchangeable hilt that is 12 inches or longer. You can swap out the hilts quickly and easily using our quick disconnect system, allowing you to create your desired saber staff configuration.

 

We recommend using a blade that is no longer than 25 inches for optimal user comfort. However, if you are taller than 6 foot 4 inches, you may want to consider using a slightly longer blade.

For a seamless experience with your Flowsaber Carbon, we highly recommend purchasing an additional battery to complement the one that comes with your purchase. Although a single 18650 battery setup reduces weight and improves performance, having a backup battery on hand can prevent interruptions during practice or performance. Our modular quick-swap core allows for easy battery swapping, enabling you to keep your Flowsaber running smoothly for as long as you need it. Our new design includes a built-in attachment system, allowing you to swap batteries on the fly without dealing with wires and complications. For extended use of your Flowsaber at long events or locations where recharging is not possible, we suggest bringing plenty of backup batteries to ensure uninterrupted use.
